During the summer months Pakistan has experienced very heavy
monsoon rainfalls, that later on has caused extreme flooding across the whole
country, that has killed about 1,500 innocent people now. More than a tenth of the
country is physically under water and about a third is affected by the flooding.
What’s more concerning, according to climate scientists it’s all an effect of global
warming. In my opinion, the situation looks critically. Pakistan just now is
having big troubles with handeling this disaster and the number of $30bn lost
in damages speaks for itself. Civilians are not only having their homes and loved
one’s taken away from them , but things like basic needs suplices. All this
basicly puts Pakistan and a total of 220,9 million people in it, in economic
crisis. But what worries me the most, is the thought of future with extreme
weather events like this one happening more frequently. Just seeing pictures
from this catastrphy gives me a thrill, but if we don’t cut down carbon footprint
we are leaving on this planet, I’m afraid, that not only Pakistan will look this
way.

In our temperate climate zone, we are relatively safer than tropical countries but this disaster will reach us too, in one way or another. And it doesn't seem that decision makers care enough to do something to prevent it.
